On 11 December we celebrate 29 years since the establishment of NAMRB—years during which Bulgarian municipalities have continued together to build their path toward stronger, more modern and more responsible local self-government. Almost three decades later, we can confidently say that this shared mission has been preserved, developed and strengthened.

The journey that began in 1996 was the result of the vision, courage and collective will for change of our founders. They laid the foundations of an organisation that gradually became the voice defending the rights, interests and development of all 265 municipalities in the country. With respect and gratitude, we pay tribute to those who were the first to believe that local authorities could unite around the common cause of a better future for our citizens.

Today, 29 years later, NAMRB is a key partner of state institutions, an active participant in reforms and a recognised source of expert solutions.

We are grateful for the daily support of our leadership—the members of the Managing Board and the Supervisory Board of NAMRB. Their integrity, experience and unity are a strong example that clear direction and uncompromising professionalism are the keys to success, even in the most unpredictable times and most challenging moments.

Our success is the result of the work and dedication of many people—mayors, chairpersons of municipal councils, municipal councillors, administrative staff and the NAMRB team. Each of them contributes every day with their professionalism and determination to the development of Bulgarian towns and villages. Thanks to them, NAMRB today is a respected, recognisable and influential partner at both national and European level.

This anniversary is also an opportunity to look ahead with excitement and anticipation.

Next year, we will celebrate together our 30th anniversary—a symbolic milestone that will honour our shared journey, our achievements so far and our bold vision for the future.
