The mayor of the Rodopi Municipality, Pavel Mihailov, welcomed a delegation from the Turkish municipality of Bilecik and signed a cooperation and twinning agreement with the mayor of Melek Mazrak Subash, the local administration informed. The initiative is in partnership with the Association "Bultish - Society of Bulgarian and Turkish Businessmen".

"Today we started the opportunities for cultural exchange and economic relations between our two municipalities, we show the way and the way for partnership in the field of tourism, trade, as well as in the implementation of future joint projects. I am sure that we will find a good ground for long-term cooperation in terms of business as well. I am convinced that from today we are creating not only cooperation, but also starting to build a good friendship," said Pavel Mihailov.

The mayor of Bilecic emphasized that the municipality of Rodopi has potential for development in tourism, and the two municipalities share the same values ​​in the field of social policy and education.

The guests from Turkey visited the Intermodal Terminal in the area of ​​Todor Kableshkov Railway Station, Zlatitrap village. It is the only one on the territory of the country and is the most direct connection for business between Bulgaria and Turkey.

The twinning agreement is the second for the Rodopi municipality, after an agreement was signed with the Italian club Barcelona Pozzo di Goto in the summer of this year.
